Captain Doug Kaska was born and raised in the Ohio area where he fished Lake Erie and other local lakes and ponds. At the age of 16 he moved to the Boston area where he got his first taste of fishing in saltwater. He fished for flounder, blue fish and other species. He has been fishing on his own since he was 8 years old. During the summer months his family had a summer home on Lake George in the Adirondacks in upstate New York. He fished all day from the boat he purchased from his paper route earnings.
While employed for a major corporation, he traveled around the country, and fished the local areas during his free time learning all the different techniques. He has taken this and uses it today in his Charter business. Capt.Doug has fished the local area for many years. He also fished all areas of Florida from the northern panhandle to Key West and both Atlantic and Gulf waters along with many freshwater lakes.
Capt. Doug loves fishing so much that he donates many hours each month to the local Teen Anglers Organization, where he helps the kids with fishing. Capt. Doug is always looking to help out the local business community by giving his time when available. Capt. Doug is involved with many local fishing clubs and other enviromental organization to help replenish the natural habitats in and around the Indian River Lagoon System.
